About the Role

Location: London (Hybrid working onsite 2 days per week)

Job Overview:

Our client, a Private Equity firm, is seeking an Azure Data QA Engineer to work on a data migration project from their existing on-prem Data Warehouse to their newly built Data Lake. The successful candidate will work closely with developers to deliver this migration end-to-end and build the framework for automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with developers to understand the data migration requirements and design test scenarios and test cases.
Create and execute test plans and test cases to ensure the quality and accuracy of the data migration process.
Build and maintain the automation framework for data quality testing using Python.
Use advanced SQL skills to validate the data and ensure that it has been accurately migrated from the existing on-prem Data Warehouse to the new Data Lake.
Utilize Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data bricks to perform data quality testing.
Analyze test results and work with developers to identify and fix defects.
Create and maintain documentation for all data quality testing processes and procedures.
Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in data quality testing and automation.

Requirements

  • Seasoned Data QA Engineer with a proven track record of data migration projects.

  • Strong automation testing skills with experience working with Python to create test scripts.

  • Advanced SQL skills to validate the data and ensure that it has been accurately migrated.

  • Previously migrated on-prem SQL to a new data lake end-to-end.

  • Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data bricks.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers, testers, and stakeholders.
